About Nash Linsley

Hello, my name is Nash Linsley, and I am a student, soon not to be, at Drake University. I am in my senior year here at Drake and I am super excited to graduate. In May I will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and minor in politics. When I get out of college, I will be looking to find a job at a public relations agency to start out my career and gain meaningful experience in my field of study. After 3-5 year in the industry, I will hopefully find my way back to school to pursue my juris doctorate. During the time in between graduation and law school, I will be studying for the LSAT and bartending on the side to make ends meet. After graduating law school, I want to pursue a career in communications and intellectual property law. These 2 subjects fascinate me, and I am somewhat bummed out I didn’t realize that passion earlier on in my college career.

Moving on from that, I want to provide a little backstory of my college experience and what lead to where I am now. When I came into college, I wanted to pursue a degree in politics and someday work on campaigns. I never wanted to be a legislator or lobbyist. Later on I decided that public relations with a minor in politics could help achieve that goal and broaden my horizon for future job opportunities.

I have also been very involved during my time at Drake. My first semester I ended up joining Theta Chi, a social fraternity. Looking back on all the decision I made in college; this was the best of them all. As a member of this fraternity, I was able to make great connections with alumni and my fellow collegiate brothers alike. I have found friends for life, mentors, and my future wedding party through this experience. Another thing that I did in college was writing for on campus publications. I wrote for DUiN, Drake Mag, and Drake Political Review. Writing for these organizations gave me a glimpse of what it meant to be a professional in the field of journalism and communications with strict deadlines and an adherence to the honor code that we as journalist hold ourselves too. I am so glad for all of these experiences and Drake was the perfect place for me to fulfill all of these things.
